Penn State Extension

Penn State Extension needed an online resource that allowed visitors to learn more about PSU’s agriculture education programs and browse classes, webinars, and online courses. The site needed a streamlined new design and the ability to support a full catalog of online resources, articles, professor bios, and guides for a wide range of agricultural topics. Penn State Extension also required the site to integrate with Plone, an open source CMS platform.

IWD developed a new site on Magento and completely overhauled the design to make it easier for users to find the content they’re looking for.

A static list of topics was replaced by an intuitive search bar that simply asks visitors what they want to learn about and provides them with a relevant list of resources.

The new site also puts upcoming workshops, featured courses, and recent articles front-and-center on the homepage, making it easy for visitors to stay up to date on news and events.

The Integration front Plone to Adobe Commerce allowed PSU to remain using the tools their professors already were using and just push their data to Adobe Commerce, making it an easy to keep the content fresh and update without retraining their staff.

PSU Extension is now able to offer their work and award winning services nation-wide to all families, farmers and inspiring agricultural consumers alike.
