Tell us about the history of your career
From a young age, I always had an interest in entrepreneurship. My Dad owned his own chemical plant where I started working from the age of 11 - from driving forklifts, painting equipment, and managing the toolroom. My Dad embedded the passion of starting his own business and a strong work ethic as well.
I ended up going to Louisiana State University (LSU) where I majored in a degree called ISDS. This degree was a mix of business management and computer system integration. This taught me to have a strong understanding of business principles and how computer applications could enhance these.
I’ve worked at a wide range of companies from Jiffy Lube, Smoothie King, Radio Shack, Office Max, Wing Ranch, Southside Produce, ShoppersChoice, ShoppersChoice.com and International Paper. These wide ranges of jobs have helped me gain many different skills from sales, customer service, inventory management, coding a website, to making a freaking amazing smoothie.

What do you love the most about IWD Agency?
The thing I enjoy most about running IWD is playing the strategic game of business and eCommerce. There is so much room for continuous growth and improvement in both the business side of things as well as in the industry of eCommerce. The eCommerce industry is still so young and there is so much room for innovation. I love working with the team on figuring out ways we can improve this and bring these innovations to our customers. Tell us about one of your most successful professional accomplishments. One of the things I am most proud of for our accomplishments at IWD Agency is building a truly international company. We have employees and customers all around the world. We have over 50,000 stores using our products in every country in the world. It is exciting to see the reach that our products and team have.
What activities do you spend most of your time doing, out of the office?
Currently living in Austin, TX, I love getting outside and doing anything active. Some of the sports and activities I enjoy doing range from volleyball, rock climbing, surfing, snow skiing, biking, running, hiking, soccer, skateboarding, and golf. Anything that involves movement and gets me outside I’m up for.
Tell us a funny story about yourself
When I was in first grade I gave myself a tattoo. I fell asleep sitting up and my head bobbed downwards towards my freshly sharpened pencil. The pencil punctured my top right forehead gushing it with blood. I went to the teacher who promptly freaked out and ran me to the principal’s office leaving a line of blood behind me. The puncture was not too bad but I learned that the head bleeds faster than other parts of the body.
I was taken to the doctor with a pencil lead in my head. He said to leave it there and the pencil lead would eventually dissolve. To this day I still have a tattoo to remind myself to not fall asleep sitting up.
